"Archiving of data is considered to be the final stage of the business cycle within the Arelon Financial System.
An executive decision was taken at Robert Gordon University to archive data that was no longer accessible from
the front-end of the system. Based on this knowledge a Project was formed to implement an Archiving Strategy and
the tender for this work was awarded to elexa Consultants.
After a review of the standard archiving processes within the current system, it was identified that a significant
amount of customisation was required to meet our business requirements. One of the main objectives of the Project
was to import the archived data into an existing Business Intelligence Toolset, Cognos Impromptu, to allow the data
to be accessible for auditing and reporting purposes.
The Project was successfully completed this summer with all objectives and deliverables met. Much of the success was
